Motley Magazine celebrates success for student journalism here in UCC
You know a lot of people have pointed to the fact that one cannot spell the word “Success” without the letters UCC, personally that was nothing more than a funny little coincidence until now.
I am very excited to announce that earlier this morning the Student Publication Association Irish Branch released the results of their annual regional awards, and have decided to name Motley Magazine Best Publication.
This is a fantastic achievement, not just for me as Editor or for our team but for every single student journalist who has contributed to our magazine this year. We couldn’t have made it this far without you, or any of our readers so I would like to take this chance to say thank you to everyone for making what we do as a publication possible.
Although my time as Editor is fast approaching it’s end I will leave with a smile on my face knowing full well that the future of student media here in UCC is very secure, and very bright indeed.
I would also like to take a moment to congratulate Samantha Calthrop, UCC Express News Editor for being named Best Journalist. Samantha is a fantastic writer with an eye for delivering the truth about what is going here in our university, to you the student community.
Issue #5 will be delivered around campus later today, please pick up your copy and if you haven’t already take a few moments to admire all of the fantastic work student writers here in UCC have produced this year.
