What is Niteline?

Words: Sarah Kelleher

Niteline is an international voluntary organisation which provides a listening service for UCC students run by UCC students. Our service is confidential, non-directive and non-judgemental. This year we’re delighted to extend our opening hours to  Monday to Thursday between 9pm and 1am, so we’re here when you need us during college. No problem is too big or too small, so whether you’re feeling lonely, stressed, worried, we’re here to listen.

We have a few events planned this year, such as our Teddy Bear Picnic with our new mascot, so feel free to call over and say hi and/or give him a hug. Also every fortnight we aim to take part in a Q and A session with other Niteline organisations on Twitter, so if you have any questions be sure to check it out.

We will also be recruiting our new volunteers during Fresher’s week so if Niteline sounds like something you’d like to get involved in, call over to our stand and we’ll answer any further questions you may have.

Niteline is here to help so if you need us free call us on: 1800 323 242  or on our live chat available at www.ucc.ie/en/pass/niteline/onlinelistening. Find all the details on our website and check out our Facebook and Twitter.
